Update Sunday 4/5/15
a. Slept
in again. Finished Physics hw and did CSE hw.
b. Met
with Dad for Indian buffet. Talked about classes, Dad’s trip to old haunting
grounds in Oregon.
c. Returned
to dorm, did CSE hw. Took a long, meandering run to the northwest of campus, up
to Green Lake.
d. Finished
CSE homework. Got pasta and ate in the lounge. Almost done with Gwern’s
Homelessness Journal. Talked with Chase for a while, walked to District Market
with him and got groceries. Got ripped off on chocolate milk because the
cheaper chocolate milk vending machine isn’t working J
e. Returned
to dorm, did CSE extra credit. Realized I hadn’t done physics tutorial hw and
did that. Done with homework until Wednesday—it’s been a long time since I
could get that kind of temporary near-closure J
Recommended Garcia for outstanding teaching recognition. Went through my tabs;
signed up for 3D printing and Arduino workshops at the neat makerspace I just
discovered. Checked over tutorial answers with Xin and helped him visualize the
effects of changing slit size and wavelength on a two-slit interference
pattern. Downloaded Arduino scripting IDE and tried to download Arduino USB
drivers, but turns out that the newer Mac OS’s have a preinstalled version of
the wrong driver that messes up the
installation of the new driver. You have to uninstall the Mac driver
(potentially every time you restart the Mac) with the Arduino plugged in J I don’t have a
bidirectional USB cable, so I hope to borrow one at the workshop and go from
there.
