Days of Summer Backlog >> 6/13/16

a.     Monday! Was going to ride back to Seattle with Mom and go on a day trip with Johan and Irina. But Irina had to bail, so I decided to take the 8:30 bolt bus instead.
                                                 i.     Took a walk with Mom around Lake Padden.
ii.     Went to the library and got some sweet books—a new Jeff Smith graphic novel, a terrific (in retrospect) novel by the Game of Thrones guy called Armageddon Rag.
iii.     Thought about meeting Grace but she was busy with Chris’s graduation.
iv.     So took Izzy and met up with Joseph and Noah at the trampoline zone. We played dodgeball for an hour. So much fun—a bunch of little kids were chasing me around by the end. I was drenched in sweat J
                                               v.     Got dinner with the folks at the Casa (Que Pasa) while the sisters did Irish dance. Then finished packing and hit the Bolt bus.
vi.     Uneventful journey, read the rest of the terrific Smith graphic novel, called RASL btw.
vii.     Get off the Bolt, catch the light rail to campus 2 minutes later.
viii.     Heck of a time dragging all my stuff to the SPS; then catch a bus up to Johan.

ix.     Bless his heart, Johan welcomes me with open arms and a slab of delicious beer bread and blueberry jam. We chat for a good while, about people and math and research and a crazy motorized gliding class he’s planning on taking. We share some frustrations towards people who won’t take the time to make connections, which is cathartic. I show him my math paper. Overall a really good time.
