UW Update Thursday 5/7/15

1.     UW Update Thursday 5/7/15
a.     Machine shop. Got to work on the lathe. Really think I’m close to figuring that thing out, which makes me happy.
b.     Got picked up by the Coopers’, along with Taylor, Sam, and my dear sister Izzy. We went to the Science Center, where we encountered Autumn and Brennan, Connie and Heidi, Darmon, Delara, and Bita. Watched an IMAX—slow pacing, but stunning photography. Then we found our way to the main attraction—a collection of exhibits from the doomed ancient city of Pompeii. It was neat!
c.      Then we went to see the butterfly exhibit, which transported me back almost a decade to the primordial days of my existence. Almost nothing had changed—it was still amazingly cathartic to stand in the warm greenhouse air in the midst of the churning butterflies.
d.     Afterwards, we walked over to the great bowl-shaped fountain, and had a grand time soaking ourselves in its unpredictable jets of water.
e.     Attempted to return in time for Glee Club, but the caprices of Seattle traffic left me extremely late. I took a shower and met the clubbers for Schultzy’s instead.
f.      Returned to Haggett, did laundry, did physics practice midterm with Xin. Grabbed Rick’s with Xin, talked a bit with Tina. Took a walk with Xin to the lakeside nature preserve.

g.     Brushed teeth, prepared Scantron, planned tight schedule for tomorrow, wrote this log. Retired my mind into the pool of darkness from whence it came.

  1. It was great seeing you today! Sorry that traffic made you late - it also took us over an hour to get from the PCS to Northgate for dinner. Walking through those parts of the science center have the same effect on me. They seem exactly the same as they did when I went there often as a kid - ten or more years ago. Strange feeling.

  2. Great to see you too! And no problem! I still ended up eating dinner with the club!
Gaaa... that was weird. But I felt like I still could see the beauty and fun in the things I did so long ago, which was neat.
